Day Wise Itinerary:-
Day 01: Arrive Manali
Reach Manali on own and transfer to hotel. Check in & Check Out time 12:00 noon. Our representative will meet you. He will introduce you to fellow participants and brief you about the beautiful drive.
Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel in Manali.
Day 02: Drive Manali – Rohtang Pass – Koksar – Keylong – Jispa ( 8 hours drive approx)
Depart Manali in the morning our first halt is Marhi. A barren landscape offering extensive views of the valley and the mountains. We proceed to Rohtang Pass 3790 M is most popular with visitors, being one of the highest road point and gateway to LAHAUL and SPITI valleys. Rohtang Pass is close in winter beacuse of heavy snow fall. From November end to May end. Visitors can drive to MARHI below ROHTANG with high altitude topography. The landscape completely changes. Khoksar is the first village and gate way to Lahaul. Follow the Chandra river right bank to reach the confluence of Chandra. Arrive at Keylong which is the district headquarter of this region. Night stay in a hotel at Jispa.
Day 03: Drive Jispa – Darcha – Sarchu- Leh
Get prepared for the most interesting overland high altitude drive up to Leh. May take approx 10 hours. You will arrive at Darcha ( 3500 Meter) is situated at the junction of Yotche Nullah and the Zangskar Chhu which takes off from the Shinkun la. Both these nullahs meet with the main river Bhaga at this place. This is the main point for the trek lovers wishes to enter in Zanskar valley or up to Leh. Your drive from this place will take to BaraLacha Pass ( 1620 Ft) and further drive to Sarchu which is nearly the mid point of Manali Leh route. Your further drive will take you to Upsi by crossing river Indus and follow the highway up to Leh. Check in at your hotel and overnight stay at Leh City.
Day 04: Leh – Local Sightseeing
The morning is at leisure for rest after the long journey. Take lunch and walk to the Leh city. After late afternoon drive in the east of Leh city to explore Shey Palace and Thikse monastery. Back to the hotel in the evening and a hang out in Leh market will be exciting. Dinner and Overnight at the hotel in Leh.
Day 05: Leh-Khardungla- Nubra Valley (125 km’s.)
After breakfast leaves for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardung-la (alt: 18,380 ft). Descending from the pass, arrive at Diskit and check in at your hotel/camp. Get fresh and explore the beautiful monastery of Diskit Gompa and drive to Hunder to see the Bactrian camel with two humps. You may have a pleasure camel ride around the sand dunes of Hunder in Nubra Valley ( direct payment basis ) Evening back to the hotel / Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 06: Nubra Valley- Khardungla-Leh
In the morning after breakfast explore the right bank of Shyok river to reach Panamic Hot spring sulfur water. If interesting to have a bath at the spring be ready with your towels and other essential clothing. Back to the Samstaling monastery in Sumur and retrace back to Leh City. Evening at leisure in Leh city and dinner and overnight at your hotel in Leh.
Day 07: Leh – Pangong Lake – Leh (150 km’s one way)
Early departure for Pangong Lake (approx. 150 km’s, located on the Indo China Border), via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft). Enjoy the beautiful panorama around the lake and its beautiful mixed color. One of the biggest and longest high altitudes in India. Get back to Leh City and take dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay in the hotel at Leh.
Day 08: Leh-Alchi – Lamayuru – Kargil (230 Kms/08-10 hrs)
After healthy breakfast drive down the Indus Valley on the first leg of your journey to Kargil & Srinagar. On the way, visit Hall of Fame, Kali Mata Temple at Spituk Monastery, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Point, Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers) and then the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic complex famous for its wall frescoes and architecture – a UNESCO listed heritage site.
Continue to drive towards Kargil, en route visiting the dramatically located Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining “Moonland” hills. On the way to Kargil, you can view the 9-Mtrs. tall rock sculpture of the Maitreya Buddha at Mulbek (7th –8th century AD). Arrive at Kargil and Check in at your hotel. Dinner and Overnight in hotel at Kargil.
Day 09: Kargil – Sonamarg – Srinagar (215kms/ 8-10 hrs)
Early departure for Srinagar driving through Drass (famous as the second coldest inhabited place in the world) and crossing the Zoji-La Pass (11,500-ft. / 3,505 m) to reach hill station of Sonamarg from where it’s smooth driving through the beautiful Kashmir countryside to reach Srinagar. Overnight in hotel at hotel / Deluxe house boat in Srinagar.
Day 10: Departure – Srinagar
In Morning taking breakfast have a Shikara ride at Dal lake (if staying at House boat). You will be driven to the airport.
